Kasturba schools of Prayagraj and Ghaziabad selected

Lucknow, 19 June (HS): Under the leadership of Chief Minister

Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government is not limiting girls to just

school education, but is also connecting them to the country's prestigious

educational institutions, scientific innovations, and modern learning

opportunities. In this regard, two Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas from Uttar

Pradesh have been selected for the orientation session organized for

outstanding schools under the Curiosity Program 2026-27, run by IIT

Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

According to the department's directives, Kasturba Gandhi

Balika Vidyalaya, Kaudihar-1, Prayagraj, and Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya,

Loni (Municipal Corporation), Ghaziabad, will participate in this special

orientation program, scheduled from July 13 to July 15, 2026. Two students and

one teacher from each selected school will participate. The students will have

the opportunity to learn and understand at one of the country's leading

technical institutions.

State Minister of State for Basic Education (Independent

Charge) Sandeep Singh said that under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi

Adityanath, the state government is developing Kasturba Gandhi Balika

Vidyalayas into effective centers of girl empowerment and quality education.

Initiatives such as digital learning, innovation-based activities, science and

mathematics programs, and affiliations with national institutions have resulted

in Uttar Pradesh's daughters reaching prestigious institutions across the

country.

He said that the selection of students from Prayagraj and

Ghaziabad at IIT Gandhinagar is proof that the state's girls are now

confidently moving forward into the mainstream of opportunities. These

daughters are moving towards becoming future scientists, researchers, and

innovators. The government's goal is to connect every student from rural and

disadvantaged backgrounds with national platforms and give new wings to their

dreams.

According to a letter sent by the Centre for Creative

Learning (CCL) of IIT Gandhinagar, the schools selected have performed

remarkably well in the Curiosity programme throughout the year. Kasturba Gandhi

Balika Vidyalaya Kaudihar-1, Prayagraj participated in 46 out of 50 sessions of

the programme, recorded 92 per cent attendance and submitted 39 out of 48

worksheets. KGBV Loni (Municipal Corporation), Ghaziabad participated in 49 out

of 50 sessions, recorded 98 per cent attendance and submitted 42 out of 48

worksheets. Based on excellent participation and better performance, both the

schools have been selected for this special national level programme.

During the program, students will be introduced to science,

mathematics, innovation, creative learning, and problem-solving activities.

They will gain a close understanding of IIT Gandhinagar's academic environment,

research culture, and innovation-based teaching model. This will develop a

scientific outlook, reorient their curiosity, and increase their confidence in

pursuing higher education. This experience will open doors to new

possibilities, especially for students from rural and disadvantaged

backgrounds.
