Bhubaneswar, 19 June (H.S.): Odisha Vigilance on Friday launched simultaneous searches at seven locations associated with Sri Satyanarayan Sethy, Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of Kotpada Block in Koraput district, over allegations of possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income. The searches are being carried out on the strength of warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Jeypore. A team comprising seven Deputy Superintendents of Police (DSPs), nine Inspectors, eleven Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), and other supporting staff has been deployed for the operation.

As part of the crackdown, Vigilance teams are conducting searches at a rented residential house of Sri Sethy located at Parabeda in Jeypore, a residential flat bearing No. G/B-6-14 on the ground floor of Block-B6 at Hi-Tech Plaza in Madhipur Mouza under Jatani in Khordha district, his parental residence at Jahangar village under Derabis police station in Kendrapada district, his government residential quarter at Kotpad in Koraput district, and his office chamber at Kotpad Block. Searches are also underway at two farms owned by him at Taragaon Mouza under Boriguma Tahasil in Koraput district.

According to Vigilance officials, the searches are part of an ongoing investigation into allegations that Sri Sethy amassed assets beyond his known sources of income. The search operation was continuing at the time of filing this report, and further details regarding the assets detected during the raids are awaited.
