KGBVs will become powerful centres for girl empowerment:

Minister Sandeep Singh

Lucknow, 18 June (HS): Under the leadership of Chief

Minister Yogi Adityanath, the Uttar Pradesh government is continuously taking

concrete steps towards strengthening girls' education and equipping Kasturba

Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas (KGBVs) with modern facilities. In this regard, in a

departmental review meeting held recently, instructions were given for timely

action on 18 important points related to girl students' safety, quality

education, digital learning, hostel operation, sports activities, scholarship

payments, and basic facilities.

The Yogi government is not limiting girls' education to just

schooling. It is transforming it into a vehicle for holistic development by

linking it with safety, health, digital literacy, sports, hostel facilities,

and life skills. From safety to education, scholarships to smart learning, and

hostels to sports facilities, the Yogi government's commitment to developing

Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas into powerful centers for girls' empowerment.

State Minister of State for Basic Education (Independent

Charge) Sandeep Singh said that under the guidance of Chief Minister Yogi

Adityanath, the government's priority is to provide every girl child with a

safe, well-equipped, and quality educational environment. Through an 18-point

action plan at KGBVs, we are integrating girls' safety, nutrition, digital

education, hostels, sports, and life skills.

He said, Our goal is to ensure that Kasturba Gandhi

Balika Vidyalayas are not just residential schools, but also become powerful

centers for girl empowerment. Through 100% attendance, quality education,

digital resources, and sports activities, thousands of girls in the state will

move toward a self-reliant future. All officials have been instructed to ensure

that the benefits of the schemes reach every eligible girl student in a timely

and transparent manner.

In view of the intense heat, instructions have been given to

ensure the availability of coolers, fans, exhaust fans, and generators in all

schools. Furthermore, schools have been asked to complete the food supply

procedures within a week and make the necessary supplies available. Emphasis

has also been placed on ensuring 100% attendance of girls and staff, and

providing summer homework to students.

Instructions have been given to complete approved activities

such as the June progress report, furniture purchases, bread-making machines,

washing machines, solar geysers, folk music instruments, and open gyms in a

timely manner. Districts with pending personnel renewals have been asked to

complete them within a week.

To promote digital platform-based learning in schools,

instructions have been given to ensure the availability of computers,

broadband, and unlimited data. Under the scholarship scheme, the details of

students from previous and current batches, the status of payments, and the

seeding of bank accounts will be reviewed to ensure timely action so that

eligible students can receive the benefits without any hindrance.

Instructions have been given to verify the work of the

hostels, additional dormitories, computer labs and toilet blocks under

construction and to provide utilization certificates soon. Projects whose

construction is more than 90 percent complete have been asked to be handed over

and started operating soon. Apart from this, districts where progress is slow

in KGBV Ek Sports Program have been instructed to speed up the activities and

connect the identified girls with sports training centers by July 3.
