Chief Guest Principal Secretary Dr. Hariom inaugurated 'Skill

Dialogue Conference'

Another strong initiative towards enhancing skills of UP

under leadership of Mission Director Pulkit Khare

Lucknow, 18 June (HS): The Skill Dialogue

Conference was held at the Uttar Pradesh Skill Development Mission

headquarters. The conference was inaugurated by Chief Guest Dr. Hariom,

Principal Secretary, Department of Vocational Education, Skill Development and

Entrepreneurship, and Mission Director Pulkit Khare, lighting the lamp.

Industry training partners, training providers, industry representatives, and

stakeholders involved in skill development from across the state attended the

event.

The conference's objective was to foster meaningful dialogue

among all stakeholders involved in skill development, making the programs more

effective, industry-oriented, and aligned with the employment needs of youth.

On this occasion, topics such as training quality, industry participation,

employment, apprenticeships, entrepreneurship, and innovation in skill

development programs were discussed and deliberated upon in detail.

Addressing the event, Principal Secretary Dr. Hariom stated

that skill development is not merely a certification program, but a campaign to

connect youth with employment and self-reliance. He stated that industries

should clearly map their human resource needs, and strong coordination should

be developed between industries and skill institutes at the district level. He

emphasized the need to increase the number of industry training partners,

encourage apprenticeships and internships, and prioritize local youth.

He said that entrepreneurship should be given equal

importance in skill development programs. It is essential to prepare youth not

only for jobs but also for establishing their own businesses. He said the

department is committed to empowering youth to become self-reliant through

handholding, banking support, and entrepreneurial guidance.

Mission Director Pulkit Khare stated that the success of the

Skill Development Mission will only be ensured when all stakeholders come together

on a common platform to share their experiences, challenges, and suggestions.

He explained that the number of industry training partners has increased over

the past year, but in a state as large as the Uttar Pradesh, there is still a

need to integrate more industries into the training process.

He stated that industries should not limit themselves to

simply demanding a trained workforce, but must become active participants in

the training process. If industries participate in training themselves, they

will have access to a skilled workforce tailored to their needs. He also

emphasized the need for improved counseling, communication with parents, and

clear information about post-training opportunities to reduce dropout rates.

Highly performing industry training partners honoured:

Topics like digital learning, beneficiary feedback, training quality, blended

learning, industry-based training model and demand and supply mapping at the

district level were discussed in detail in the conference. The participants presented

their suggestions, to which the departmental officials responded positively and

assured necessary improvements. During the programme, high performing industry

training partners who had been associated with UPSDM for a long time were also

honoured. These included Skilled Tailoring Institute by Raymond, JITM Skills

Private Limited (Healthcare), VLCC Healthcare (Beauty & Wellness), U2L

Learning Solutions Limited and Nalanda Engicon Private Limited.
