
Srinagar, 15 June (H.S.): Vijayender Pal Singh Badnore, Former Governor of Punjab met Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha at Lok Bhavan today.
Dr. Karan Singh, Former Union Minister also met Lieutenant Governor and discussed various matters related to development of Jammu Kashmir.
Later, former Minister Ajatshatru Singh, along with Dr. Ritu Singh and Ranvijay Singh, paid a courtesy visit to Lieutenant Governor.
They appreciated the sustained efforts of the Lieutenant Governor-led administration to curb the menace of drug abuse under the Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan. They lauded the campaign for generating widespread awareness among the youth and mobilizing various sections of society in the fight against substance abuse.
Dr. Ritu Singh also handed over the initiatives undertaken by the Delhi Public School (DPS) schools to the Lieutenant Governor in support of the Nasha Mukt Jammu Kashmir Abhiyan.
Dr. Ritu Singh expressed her deep gratitude to the Lieutenant Governor for launching the Shri Raghunath Ji Ki Maha Aarti Sanstha. She said that the Sanstha has taken a path-breaking initiative, with a large number of women Mahashakti, giving a new momentum to activities of the Sanstha. She added that the initiative has emerged as a major attraction not only for local devotees but also for tourists visiting from across the country.
Rajiv Jasrotia, Member of Legislative Assembly from Jasrota also called on Lieutenant Governor.
He held detailed discussions on several issues concerning public welfare, infrastructure development, youth engagement and the overall progress of Jammu and Kashmir.
During the meeting, Rajiv Jasrotia apprised the Lieutenant Governor of various matters related to the development needs of Jasrota constituency and other public concerns requiring attention. He emphasized the importance of strengthening infrastructure, improving civic amenities and ensuring the effective implementation of welfare and development schemes at the grassroots level.
The BJP legislator also discussed issues concerning employment opportunities for youth, enhancement of public services and the need for continued efforts to accelerate developmental activities in rural and urban areas alike.A significant focus of the discussion was the ongoing campaign against drug abuse in Jammu and Kashmir. Rajiv Jasrotia appreciated the leadership of the Lieutenant Governor and the administration for the successful conduct of the 100-day anti-drug campaign launched across the Union Territory.
Sanjay Kumar Puri, Senior Director, National Informatics Centre (NIC), J&K UT Centre, called on Lieutenant Governor.
Irfan Manhas, Former Vice Chairman, District Development Council, Shopian and Co-Convener BJP J&K called on Lieutenant Governor.
Meanwhile, a delegation of Mehboob ul Alam Sports Club Kashmir led by its Manager Shri Shabir Ahmad Shah called on Lieutenant Governor and discussed issues related to upcoming Chinar Premier League-CPL 8th edition.
Subsequently, a delegation of Kashmir Timber Association led by its Chairman Jameel Ahmad Dar also called on Lieutenant Governor.
