Guwahati, 10 June (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma on Wednesday congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi after he became the longest-serving elected Prime Minister in India's history, describing the occasion as a landmark moment for the nation.

In a statement, Sarma said Modi's name is associated with nearly every major chapter of India's development and transformation over the past 12 years. He noted that the milestone reflects the journey of a stronger, more confident India that has steadily enhanced its standing on the global stage.

The Chief Minister highlighted the country's achievements in infrastructure development, welfare initiatives for the poor, digital transformation, self-reliance and economic growth during the last decade, attributing them to the Prime Minister's visionary leadership.

Extending his greetings, Sarma said the occasion was not merely a political milestone but a celebration of India's progress. He also reaffirmed commitment towards realizing the vision of a developed India, or Viksit Bharat, by 2047 under Modi's leadership.-----------
