26 May (HS): According to the Meteorological Department, a heat wave is
expected in the state on May 28, while thunderstorms, lightning, strong winds,
and rain are forecast from May 29 to 31. During this period, the maximum
temperature is expected to range between 38 and 45 degrees Celsius.
Agricultural
scientists have advised farmers to irrigate crops lightly as needed during dry
weather and ensure proper drainage in the fields after rain. To protect
vegetables and vine crops from strong winds and storms, provide support. The
current time is considered appropriate for planting rice nurseries.
Additionally,
the possibility of stem borer infestation in maize, green leafhopper in pumpkin
crops, and whitefly infestation in chili crops has been expressed. Farmers have
been advised to take timely pest management and control measures. Livestock
farmers have also been advised to keep their animals in shady places during
extreme heat, provide adequate water and prevent them from grazing during the
afternoon.
