
Amravati, 26 May (HS): The jungle safari in
Amravati’s Melghat Tiger Project wioll remain closed from June 15 to September
30. The decision to close the jungle safari entrance to Melghat Tiger Project in
Semadoh, Chikhaldara, Harisal, Shahanur, Narnala and others will be closed
during the monsoon season. The Forest Department has closed booking during the
period.
During the monsoon season roads in the project
are not worth movement of vehicles. The vehicles may get stuck posing problems
for the tourists. The movement of wildlife is also affected during the season.
Besides the bad condition of roads, overflowing small canals, poor sighting and
slippery road are experienced during the season.
Some buffer zones may remain open during the
period. However, the core area will remained closed. Besides tiger, Melghat
forest has bear, sambhar, wild buffalo, bison and other animals.
