Baksa (Assam), 23 May (HS): In a gesture aimed at maintaining communal harmony, over a hundred Muslim families under the Madhupur Jame Masjid area in Assam’s Baksa district have decided not to sacrifice cows during the upcoming Eid celebrations.

According to local sources, the decision was taken out of respect for the sentiments of the Sanatani community, for whom cows hold religious significance and are worshipped. The families stated that they did not want to hurt the feelings of people belonging to the Hindu community.

Residents said the initiative reflects the long-standing tradition of brotherhood and peaceful coexistence in the area. Local people from both communities have welcomed the move and termed it a positive example of mutual respect and social harmony.-----------
