Guwahati, 02 May (HS): A special court is set to pronounce its verdict today on the bail application of prime accused Sidharth Sharma in the Zubeen Garg murder case, marking a crucial development in the ongoing trial.

The court had reserved its order for May 2 after concluding hearings on the bail plea. Notably, today also marks the final day of arguments related to charge framing in the case. All accused are expected to submit their written arguments before the court regarding the framing of charges.

Following today’s proceedings, no further hearings will be conducted on the issue of charge framing. As per provisions under the BNSS, the court is expected to deliver its decision within the next two months.

It may be mentioned that the bail plea of another key accused, Shyamkanu Mahanta, was rejected by the court on April 30. The judicial process in the case is steadily progressing.------------
