New Delhi, May 18 (H.S.): The Bharatiya Janata Party on Monday described the conferment of Sweden’s highest civilian honour, the “Royal Order of the Polar Star,” upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi as a moment of immense pride for every Indian.

Addressing a press conference at the party headquarters, BJP spokesperson and Member of Parliament Sudhanshu Trivedi said that Prime Minister Modi is currently on a highly significant foreign visit aimed at safeguarding the interests of every Indian citizen.

He stated that the Government of Sweden has conferred the “Royal Order of the Polar Star” upon Prime Minister Modi, who is regarded as one of India’s most popular prime ministers and among the world’s most admired leaders.

Dr. Trivedi further said that with this recognition, Prime Minister Modi has now been honoured with 31 international awards during his tenure in office.

He emphasized that the honour is not merely a recognition of Modi as an individual, but a symbol of how the Prime Minister has established the capabilities and excellence of 1.4 billion Indians on the global stage.

“This is a proud moment for every Indian,” he said.

Dr. Trivedi also highlighted a major achievement for India during Prime Minister Modi’s visit to the United Arab Emirates amid the ongoing global energy crisis.

According to him, the UAE has agreed to an investment deal worth nearly 30 billion US dollars aimed at expanding India’s strategic petroleum reserves. He said the agreement is expected to enhance India’s strategic oil storage capacity by nearly 70 percent.

In addition, a UAE-based company has also announced an investment of 5 billion US dollars in India. Dr. Trivedi said the development would further strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two nations in the fields of energy, trade, and economic partnership.
