
Mumbai, 15 May (HS): Dr Anand Nadkarni never looked psychiatry
as medical service, but a service from the social angle. He spoke to eradicate
social stigma attached to mental health problems and make the society sensitive
to people with such problems. Dr Nadkarni was consistently engaged in
generating awareness through his lectures stage shows and his articles and
books. Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis condoled the death of
renowned psychiatrist and social worker Dr Anand Nadkarni with these words.
Fadnavis said with Dr Nadkarni’s death we lost a
social guide who tried to link several fields by removing the biased approach
of the society. His death has caused immense loss to various social fields. Fadnavis
also recalled his contribution to the society through his organisation Muktangan
in Pune.
