Kolkata, 01 May (H.S.): West Bengal Governor R N Ravi on Friday extended greetings to the people of Maharashtra and Gujarat on their Statehood Day through posts on social media platform X.

In a message issued form Lok Bhavan West Bengal on the occasion of Maharashtra Day, the governor said the land of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, revered saints and great thinkers has always symbolised courage and enterprise. He noted that the state’s rich cultural heritage and legacy of social reform continue to inspire the nation.

The message added that driven by the resolve and industrious spirit of its people, Maharashtra is contributing significantly to India’s growth across sectors and will continue to scale new heights of progress, prosperity and excellence.

On Gujarat Day, the governor said the state, shaped by the ideals of Mahatma Gandhi and the visionary leadership of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, stands as a symbol of India’s civilisational strength.

He said Gujarat has played a key role from the freedom movement to nation-building and continues to be a major driver of development, powered by the enterprise and hard work of its people.
