Bhubaneswar, 09 April (H.S.): India Meteorological Department has forecast a return of hot and humid weather conditions in Odisha from April 12, even as thunderstorms are expected to persist in parts of the state until April 10.

The weather agency has advised residents to remain vigilant during lightning activity and to seek safe shelter when necessary. Farmers have also been cautioned to take preventive measures, including regulating harvesting activities and using hail nets to protect vegetables and standing crops from possible hailstorms.

According to IMD, there will be no significant change in daytime temperatures over the next two days. However, a gradual rise of 4 to 6 degrees Celsius is expected thereafter across the state.

From April 12 onwards, hot and humid conditions are likely to prevail at isolated locations in districts including Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam and Gajapati.
