New Delhi, 25 April (H.S.): Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has questioned Uttar Pradesh's law and order situation in the rape and murder case of a woman in Ghazipur district. He demanded action against the guilty police officers, security for the victim's family, and a high-level investigation into the incident.
On the social media platform X, Rahul Gandhi described the incidents in Hathras, Kathua, Unnao, and now Ghazipur as part of a pattern, noting that the victims are always Dalit, backward caste, tribal, or poor, while perpetrators receive protection. He also referenced the Manipur incident.
Rahul Gandhi alleged that those in power remain silent every time, and voices expected to speak stay mute.
In a country where parents must beg to file an FIR for their daughter, such a government has no moral right to remain in power.
