Agartala, 21 April (HS): Mohan Bhagwat, Sarsanghchalak of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, on Tuesday took part in the Pran Pratishtha and Kumbh Abhishek ceremony of ‘Maa Chinmayi Saundarya Temple’ at Fakiramura in Mohanpur, Tripura. The ceremony was held with full religious rituals and attended by a large number of devotees and dignitaries.
The event was also attended by Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu, Maharashtra Governor Jishnu Dev Varma, and Chief Minister Manik Saha.
Bhagwat had reached Agartala on Monday via Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport, where he was welcomed by Amit Rakshit, President of Chinmaya Seva Trust and Trustee of Chinmaya Mission.
Dedicated to Goddess Tripur Sundari, the temple stands out as a unique blend of architecture and spirituality. It features 27 black stone pillars brought from Tamil Nadu, representing the 27 nakshatras of Hindu astrology. The structure has been designed without a traditional roof, symbolising an open connection with the divine.
At the centre of the temple is a 15-foot-high black stone idol of Goddess Tripura Sundari. A smaller idol, built in the style of the Matabari Temple, has also been installed for daily worship.
The temple complex is adorned with engravings and inscriptions from ‘Saundarya Lahari’ and other devotional texts, adding to its spiritual aura. Priests from Nepal performed the Pran Pratishtha and Kumbh Abhishek rituals following traditional customs.---------------
