
Varanasi, April 17 (HS): Former
Union Minister Smriti Irani arrived in Varanasi on Friday morning. She was
welcomed at the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Babatpur by party
leaders led by Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Kashi region president Dilip Patel.
After a brief conversation with party leaders at the airport, the former Union
Minister departed for the city. She will participate in the Nari Shakti Vandan
Act program organized at the cultural complex in Chowkaghat in the city.

Shivanand Rai, protocol in-charge of BJP Shailesh Pandey etc. were among those
who welcomed the former Union Minister at the airport. Meanwhile, a scooty
rally has also been organised on Friday under the aegis of Sampurnanand
Sanskrit University, Varanasi as part of the 'Nari Shakti Vandan Act-Prachar
Abhiyan'. The scooty rally will start from the main building of the university
at 3 pm and will conclude at the main building via Government Ayurveda College
and Hospital, Chowkaghat. All the women teachers, employees and students of the
university will participate enthusiastically in this rally. This information
