Guwahati, 15 April (HS): In a sharp political remark, former Assam Congress president and BJP candidate Bhupen Borah has claimed that Gaurav Gogoi is merely the “face” of the Congress, while the real “base” of the party lies with Rakibul Hussain.

Speaking in an exclusive interview, Borah alleged that key decisions within the Congress, including the distribution of party tickets and the scheduling of important meetings, are effectively controlled by Rakibul Hussain.

His comments are being seen as a major political attack on the internal functioning of the Congress party in Assam, potentially intensifying the ongoing political debate ahead of crucial electoral developments.-----------
