Bhubaneswar, 12 April (H.S.): Odisha has earned national recognition by securing 17 awards at the prestigious CIDC Vishwakarma Awards, reflecting the state’s strong commitment to engineering excellence and good governance.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi expressed pride over the achievement, noting that various State Government departments have won 10 of these awards. He highlighted that the Department of Water Resources alone received five awards for its outstanding work in irrigation and water management projects, which have significantly contributed to strengthening rural livelihoods and empowering farmers.

The Chief Minister also lauded the Works and Sports Departments for their notable contributions to developing modern healthcare infrastructure and world-class sports facilities in the state.

Congratulating all the awardees, Majhi said their dedication and hard work are driving Odisha’s growth and transformation. He described engineers, architects, and workers as the “modern-day Vishwakarmas” who are playing a key role in building a prosperous Odisha.

Reaffirming the government’s vision, he stated that under the guidance of Narendra Modi and the Double Engine government, Odisha remains committed to achieving the goals of a “Samruddha Odisha” and contributing to a “Viksit Bharat.”
