New Delhi, 07 March (H.S.): Women are emerging as a formidable force in nation-building under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta declared today, emphasizing that empowering them remains a shared responsibility for all.

Gupta made these remarks while addressing the inaugural session of the two-day national conference of women thinkers, 'Bharati – Nari se Narayani', at Vigyan Bhavan. Organized jointly by Rashtra Sevika Samiti, Bharatiya Vidvat Parishad, and Sharanya, the event draws nearly 1,500 women thinkers from across India, featuring dedicated forums for women MPs, female university vice-chancellors, and women saints, including a Sadhvi Sangam.

Highlighting Delhi's proactive measures, Gupta pointed to initiatives like the Lakhpati Beti Yojana—which provides over ₹1 lakh upon maturity for girls' higher education—the Saheli Pink Smart Card, collateral-free loans, and permissions for night shifts, all aimed at fostering secure, empowered, and self-reliant women .

The conference will deliberate on eight key themes: Vidya (education), Shakti (strength), Mukti (liberation), Chetna (consciousness), Prakriti (nature), Sanskriti (culture), Siddhi (attainment), and Kriti (creativity). Discussions under Vidya will address higher education for women, reducing girl child dropouts, and integrating self-defense into curricula; Shakti will focus on self-reliance and financial literacy; while Mukti will explore remedies for domestic violence and societal stereotypes.

Prominent attendees included Rashtra Sevika Samiti's chief coordinator V. Shanta Kumari, All India Taruni chief Vijaya Sharma, Bharatiya Vidvat Parishad's executive Prof. Shivani V., Sharanya president Anju Ahuja, secretary Prof. Charu Kalra, and social worker Dr. Tejaswini Anant Kumar.

The event symbolizes women's transformative journey from 'Nari' (woman) to 'Narayani' (divine strategic force), aligning with broader national empowerment goals.
