Guwahati, 05 March (HS): Union Minister of State for External Affairs Pabitra Margherita on Thursday launched a sharp attack on the Congress, accusing the party of promoting dynastic politics and allowing “parachute landing” of leaders’ sons into key positions.

Taking a dig at the party, Margherita said that while a politician’s son may choose to enter politics, the Congress has a tendency to give sudden opportunities to the children of its leaders without a grassroots political journey.

He further alleged that the Congress has long been associated with family-centric politics, where leadership and political opportunities are often confined within a few influential families. The Union Minister made the remarks while criticizing what he described as the party’s continued reliance on dynastic practices. Minister was talking to media persons after a program on Thursday in the state BJP headquarters.----------
