26 March (HS): Uttar Pradesh's Urban Development and Energy Minister AK Sharma

held meetings with the officials of the Municipal Corporation and the Energy

Department at the Circuit House in Varanasi and gave necessary instructions.

Minister AK Sharma, while asking them to see the city of Varanasi from a

tourist point of view, said that summer is beginning, for this the Purvanchal

Vidyut Vitaran Nigam should get the hanging wires in the city repaired from now

on and work on underground cable safe transformers. New poles should be

installed in place of bamboo poles, work should be done to replace worn out

cables and put them underground, ongoing maintenance work should be done for

uninterrupted power supply in summer.

AK Sharma, in the presence of the Municipal Commissioner and the Mayor, said

that to give a clean city to the tourists, garbage management should be done,

the debris lying on the roadside should be removed immediately, the

intersections should be kept especially beautiful. Cleanliness work should be

done especially on the ghats. To keep the drains and sewers clean in the

streets and localities of the city, the zone level officers will have to come

out on the road. There should not be any delay in the work of collecting

garbage on the roadsides like Gaudolia, Chowk, Maidagin. In the meetings,

Managing Director of Purvanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam Shambhu Kumar, Municipal

Commissioner Himanshu Nagpal along with the officers of the Electricity

Department and the Municipal Corporation were present.
