Guwahati, 26 March (HS): NDA candidate Chakradhar Gogoi has alleged discrepancies in the declared age of Assam Jatiya Parishad President and election candidate Lurinjyoti Gogoi and stated that legal action would be pursued if any concealment of facts is established.

Addressing the issue, Gogoi claimed that inconsistent age details have been submitted by Lurinjyoti Gogoi in different elections. According to him, the age mentioned in the 2021 Assam assembly election affidavit was 43 years, while in the 2024 Lok Sabha election it was declared as 45 years.

However, Gogoi pointed out that in the affidavit submitted for the 2026 elections, the age has reportedly been reduced again to 43 years instead of increasing, raising questions over the authenticity of the information provided.

He further stated that if it is proven that the age has been deliberately misrepresented, the matter will be taken up legally and appropriate action will be sought under the law.----------
