Guwahati, 26 March (HS): Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma asserted that the state government had proceeded on the right track in investigating the murder case of Zubeen Garg, emphasizing that the probe conducted in Assam differed significantly from that of Singapore.
The Chief Minister stated last night after attending a program that had the investigation relied solely on Singapore’s findings, the justice process for Zubeen Garg would have concluded prematurely. He underlined that the Special Investigation Team (SIT) in Assam pursued a firm and independent line of inquiry.
According to Sarma, the SIT established that the victim was deliberately and systematically made to consume alcohol and subsequently drowned in water as part of a planned and motivated act. He said that the rigorous investigation carried out by the SIT would ultimately ensure justice for Zubeen Garg.
The Chief Minister made these significant remarks while reiterating the Assam government’s commitment to delivering justice through a thorough and evidence-based investigation process.----------
