New Delhi, 25 March (H.S.):

Expectations of peace in West Asia are sending positive vibes through global markets on Wednesday. US markets had closed lower in the previous session amid uncertainty over the America-Iran conflict but Dow Jones futures are trading firmly higher today. European bourses ended mixed yesterday while Asian markets are seeing across-the-board gains.

Confusion over separate US and Iran statements on a potential ceasefire in the West Asia war weighed on Wall Street last session. The S&P 500 index fell 0.37 percent to close at 6556.37 points. Nasdaq dropped 184.87 points or 0.84 percent finishing at 21761.89 points. Dow Jones futures however are up 379.77 points or 0.82 percent at 46503.83 points today.

European markets delivered mixed results at the end of their last session. FTSE index rose 0.71 percent to 9965.16 points. CAC index gained 0.23 percent closing at 7743.92 points. DAX however slipped 0.07 percent to 22636.91 points.

Asian markets are uniformly strong on Wednesday with all nine major indices in the green. Gift Nifty is up 265.50 points or 1.16 percent at 23212 points. Straits Times index climbed 0.37 percent to 4880.19 points. Taiwan Weighted index jumped a hefty 870.61 points or 2.67 percent to 33482.85 points.

Nikkei index surged 1372.72 points or 2.63 percent to 53625 points. SET Composite index rose 2.16 percent to 1440.79 points KOSPI gained 98.99 points or 1.78 percent at 5652.91 points Shanghai Composite leaped 0.88 percent to 3915.49 points Jakarta Composite added 0.64 percent to 7152.21 points and Hang Seng edged up 0.06 percent to 25078 points.
