24 March (HS): Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and
Sciences (SHUATS) organized a high-profile National Seminar-cum-Excellence
Award Ceremony titled Nari Shakti Samman-2026.The event was
dedicated to recognizing the invaluable contributions of ground-level female
staff and honoring teaching and non-teaching members for their outstanding
institutional services. The ceremony was graced by Dr. (Ir.) Abhilasha Lal as
the Chief Guest and Prof. (Dr.) Ranu Prasad, Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academics),
as the Guest of Honour.
The
organizing team, including Dr. Deepak Bose, Dr. Shobha Thakur, Dr. Anushree
Shukla, Dr. Heera Bose, and Dr. Surbhi, welcomed the dignitaries with shawls
and mementos. They emphasized that female workers are the silent pillars of the
university’s operational success.
In a
moving speech, Dr. (Ir.) Abhilasha Lal shared her personal testimony of
overcoming a life-threatening illness to dedicate herself to social service.
Her efforts led her to win the 'Mrs. India 2025'title and the 'Inspirational
Queen' award by the Rotary Club of Allahabad. She remarked: Real
inclusive growth is only possible when we honor those at the grassroots. The
dedication of our female staff is fundamental to the university's success. When
a woman is respected and empowered—whether at home or the workplace—the entire
community prospers.
Guest of
Honour and Pro-VC (Academics) SHUATS , Prof. (Dr.) Ranu Prasad, expressed
gratitude toward the Palak Foundation for their support, stating: When
you educate a girl, you educate an entire generation. The role of women in
institutional building is paramount, and their presence ensures a balanced and
progressive academic environment.
The
highlight of the day was the Award Ceremony, where numerous female workers and
academic staff were felicitated for their dedication and excellence. The
seminar also featured technical sessions on Role of Women in
Institutional Development and Workplace Challenges and
Solutions. The event concluded with a vote of thanks from the organizing
committee, marking a successful step toward fostering equality and inspiration
within the university campus.
