The Central Government escalated its campaign against online illegal gambling and betting on Friday by blocking an additional 300 websites and apps, tightening surveillance under the Online Gaming Act.
Official sources revealed that approximately 4,900 platforms have been targeted since the Act's enforcement, bringing the total to 8,400 blocked sites when combined with prior actions.
The latest crackdown primarily focused on online sports betting platforms, digital casinos featuring slots, roulette, and live dealer tables, peer-to-peer betting exchanges, satta-matka gambling networks, and real-money card game apps promising cash incentives.
