Solapur, 16 Mar (HS):

Owing to heavy rush the airlines connecting Solapur to Mumbai and Goa have been

charging exorbitant rates. On Sunday only one ticket on Solapur-Mumbai flight

was vacant and was sold for a whooping Rs 42,000, which is a sort of record for

Solapur. The charges were the highest so far on the Solapur-Mumbai flight.

Last week Rs 27,000

was charged for Mumbai ticket, while Goa ticket was sold for Rs 18,000. The

regular ticket on Solapur-Mumbai flight quoted by companies is Rs 3,500 and Rs

2.200 for Goa. For some time response for the Solapur-Mumbai flight was very

low. Now, with the completion of HSC and SSC examination ending and marriage season,

heavy rush of travellers is experienced. The companies are charging exorbitant

tickets booked a few hour before the flight.
