Bhubaneswar, 15 March (H.S.) : Leader of the Opposition in Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, on Sunday stressed the importance of consumer protection and awareness, stating that a fair and transparent marketplace is essential for a just society.

In a message posted on social media to mark World Consumer Rights Day, Patnaik said every consumer has the right to safety, choice, access to information, and a voice in the marketplace.

“A just marketplace is essential for a just society. Every consumer deserves safety, choice, information, and a voice,” he wrote.

The former Odisha Chief Minister also called for greater awareness so that consumers can make informed decisions while choosing products and services. He added that responsible consumer choices can help safeguard the environment and ensure a secure and sustainable future for societ
