Lucknow, 14

March (HS): In response to the LPG problem, Uttar Pradesh's Food and Civil

Supplies Department raided 1,483 sites and detained six persons in an operation

to combat illegal cooking gas cylinder sales, according to an official

statement. The raids took place on Friday, along with the district administration.

The Uttar Pradesh administration released a statement late Friday night stating

that 24 FIRs were lodged as part of the operation.

According

to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's instructions, the Food and Civil Supplies

Department and the district administration are constantly monitoring the LPG

cylinder supply system and conducting inspections and raids throughout the

state to ensure that no shortages or irregularities occur anywhere.

Chief

Secretary SP Goyal instructed all district magistrates to take all necessary

efforts to ensure the supply of fuel, diesel, and LPG cylinders. Uttar Pradesh

was the first state to take rapid and stringent action against black marketing.

On Friday, district-level enforcement teams performed inspections and raids at

1,483 establishments as part of this effort, according to the statement. During

this operation, four FIRs were filed against LPG distributors and 20 against

those involved in the illegal sale of LPG gas. Six people were detained on the

scene, and 19 people are facing charges, according to the report. Consumers

have received LPG cylinders in accordance with their bookings from the state's

4,108 LPG gas wholesalers.

Distributors

have an adequate supply of LPG cylinders on hand, and home LPG refills are

given as needed, according to the statement. To monitor the supply chain and

assure prompt resolution of any issues, a 24-hour control center has been

constructed at the food commissioner's office. According to the report,

officers from the Food and Civil Supplies Department have been dispatched

there. Control rooms have also been constructed in every district around the

state.
