Bhubaneswar, 22 February (H.S.) : An Indian Revenue Service (IRS) officer has been accused of sexually assaulting a woman at government quarters in the Satsang Vihar area of Bhubaneswar. According to the complaint, the alleged incident was recorded, and the accused reportedly threatened to circulate the video.

Following the victim’s complaint, Saheed Nagar police registered a case and initiated an investigation. The victim’s statement was recorded after her medical examination, and the police subsequently inspected the accused officer’s quarters. At the time of reporting, the officer had not yet been questioned.

The victim had initially accompanied the accused’s sister-in-law to his residence when his wife was unwell. Later, the IRS officer allegedly called the victim to his quarters and committed the assault. It is further alleged that the officer recorded the act and threatened to make the video public. The victim has also claimed that she was assaulted on multiple occasions under the same threat.The police are continuing their investigation into the matter.
