
Bhubaneswar, 02 February (H.S.): President of India Droupadi Murmu will begin her six-day visit to Odisha on Monday, during which she will attend a series of official, cultural and public programmes across five districts of the state.
According to the official itinerary, the President’s visit will cover Puri, Khordha, Balasore, Jajpur and Mayurbhanj districts. She is scheduled to arrive in Bhubaneswar this evening.
As part of her visit, President Murmu will travel to Jajpur, where she will offer prayers at the shrine of Maa Biraja, the presiding deity of the district. On February 3, she will spend more than one and a half hours at the Biraja Temple before proceeding to Balasore.
In Balasore, the President will attend the 12th convocation ceremony of Fakir Mohan University and interact with graduating students. Later in the evening, she will arrive in Puri and stay overnight.
On February 4, President Murmu will be accorded a ceremonial welcome at the Singhadwara of the Shree Jagannath Temple by the Gajapati Maharaja, temple servitors and senior administrative officials. After offering prayers to Lord Jagannath, she will perform Pinda Daan rituals at Swetaganga.
Later the same day, the President will travel to Rairangpur in Mayurbhanj district, where she will address a public gathering in her native region. She is also scheduled to inaugurate and lay foundation stones for several development projects.
On the following day, President Murmu will visit the Jagannath Temple in Rairangpur and later proceed via Jashipur to the Similipal Tiger Reserve, renowned for its rich biodiversity, where she will stay overnight.
On the final day of her visit, February 6, the President will interact with tribal women and youth from the Similipal region, underscoring her focus on inclusive development and community engagement.
