Pakistani Army Razes BLA Chief Bashir Zaib's Ancestral Home in Nushki Blitz

Quetta (Balochistan), Pakistan, 10 February (H.S.): On Tuesday, Pakistani military forces stormed the volatile district of Nushki in Balochistan province, imposing curfew and demolishing two residences with explosives, including the ancestral abode of Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) commander Bashir Zaib Baloch in Ahmadwal, as retaliation for recent insurgent offensives.

Armored Incursion and Targeted Demolitions

Troops rolled into Nushki city aboard tanks and armored vehicles, swiftly enacting curfew before razing structures in Ghaziyabad and Ahmadwal; the latter—the familial home of BLA chief Bashir Zaib, who assumed command post-January 2025—was obliterated, per The Balochistan Post report.

Ghaziyabad's destroyed dwelling, vacant since 2011, belonged to the late Haji Abdul Samad, deceased in 2009, with his family relocated to Gulf states years prior.

Retaliation for BLA's January Onslaught

The operation follows BLA's audacious January 31, 2026, multi-district assaults—including Nushki—where militants seized control for six days, targeting army camps, ISI headquarters, prisons, and administrative offices amid pitched battles claiming dozens of Pakistani casualties.

BLA's media wing announced campaign cessation after neutralizing scores via ambushes, IEDs, and seizures of thermal scopes, night vision gear, and weaponry from Khuran and Mastung garrisons; they mourned two fidayeen—Salam Baloch from Turbat and Wasim alias Karim—among 93 purported fighters slain.

Zaib's group, galvanized by post-2024 uprising fervor, positions demolitions as futile escalation in Baloch quest for autonomy from Islamabad's resource exploitation.
