New Delhi, 30 October (H.S.): India fast bowler Prasidh Krishna has been ruled out of the upcoming five-match ODI series against New Zealand after failing to recover fully from a hamstring injury. He is now expected to join the India A squad for the third and final unofficial Test against New Zealand A, subject to clearing the required fitness and Return to Play (RTP) assessment.

In a statement, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) said Krishna would need additional time to build up the bowling workload required to regain match readiness. The selectors have not named a replacement for him in the ODI squad. Fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah had already been rested for the series.

Meanwhile, all-rounder Nitish Kumar Reddy will be available for only the opening ODI before joining the India A squad for the third unofficial Test against New Zealand A, beginning November 7. The decision has been taken to provide him with sufficient red-ball match practice ahead of the first Test against New Zealand, scheduled to begin on November 19 in Wellington.

Mohammed Siraj Added to India A Squad for Second Unofficial Test

Fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has been included in the India A squad for the second unofficial Test against New Zealand A, scheduled to begin on October 31 at Hagley Oval in Christchurch.

The team, captained by Dhruv Jurel, also features several players with regular international Test experience.

India A came close to securing victory in the first unofficial Test, but New Zealand A managed to hold on for a draw after fading light disrupted play. KL Rahul, who featured in that match, will not be part of the second fixture in Christchurch as he prepares for the upcoming ODI series.
