Guwahati, 30 October (HS): Assam BJP president Dilip Saikia on Friday criticised the Congress over its proposed rally at Ramlila Maidan on November 1, coinciding with the remembrance day of the 1984 anti-Sikh massacre.

Taking a dig at the Congress, Saikia questioned whether the party was concerned about the sentiments of the Sikh community, which could be hurt by holding a political rally on a day associated with the remembrance of the massacre.

He alleged that the Congress was indifferent to the feelings of the Sikh community and said the party did not seem to be bothered about the possible hurt caused to them by its decision to organise the rally on the occasion.

In response to another question concerning Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy's remarks about Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Saikia said that every Congress man is knowing about the works done by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, but they are hesitating to accept openly.

He said anyone who genuinely loves the nation of India would make a similar observation, endorsing the remarks made by the Telangana Chief Minister.-----------
