Guwahati, 30 October (HS): Assam Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma on Friday said the state government is closely monitoring the possible impact of the glacial lake outburst in Bhutan across vulnerable revenue circles in Dhubri and Kokrajhar districts.

In a social media post, the Chief Minister said the administration was keeping a close watch on the situation and maintaining constant communication with the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and other concerned agencies.

He said response teams were prepared to take necessary action if the situation warranted intervention.

Sarma also urged residents in vulnerable areas to remain alert, follow official updates and extend cooperation to local administration officials.

The monitoring exercise comes amid concerns over a possible rise in water levels in downstream areas following the glacial lake outburst in Bhutan.--------
