My Heart Is Burning”: NC MLA Abdul Majeed Larvi Expresses Disappointment Over Missing Cabinet Berth

Srinagar, 27 October (H.S.): National Conference (NC) MLA Abdul Majeed Larvi has expressed disappointment over being left out of the cabinet expansion of the Omar Abdullah-led government, stating that he had been among the probable ministers until Monday evening.

Speaking to reporters shortly after the swearing-in ceremony, Larvi, who represents Anantnag West, said he felt deeply hurt by the decision.

“My heart is broken. I was deserving, and I say it twice, I was deserving,” Larvi said, expressing his disappointment while maintaining that he respected the decision of the party leadership.

He further stated that despite his public composure, he was deeply upset over his exclusion from the cabinet. “We are human beings; we have a heart too. Our heart is sad, and there is no doubt about that. I may speak to you like this, but my heart is burning from inside,” he remarked.

When asked whether he had expected a ministerial berth, Larvi said his name had figured on the list of probable ministers until Monday evening.

Despite his disappointment, the NC legislator reaffirmed his loyalty to the party and its leadership, describing himself as a dedicated party worker.

“I am a soldier of the party. I can go anywhere for the party,” he said.

The cabinet expansion saw four legislators inducted as ministers into the Omar Abdullah-led government on Tuesday, while Larvi was among those left out.
