Kokrajhar (Assam), 23 October (HS): Bodoland People's Front (BPF) chief Hagrama Mohilary on Friday took a swipe at the United People's Party Liberal (UPPL), saying the party should surrender instead of contesting the upcoming by-elections to the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC).

Mohilary claimed that UPPL would not be able to win even if it contested the elections in Rouata, Kajalgaon and Darangajuli. He further asserted that BPF candidates would win the by-elections without facing any opposition.

His remarks came in the context of the upcoming BTC by-elections, with political parties preparing for the electoral contest. Mohilary's statements reflect the BPF leadership's confidence about its prospects in the polls, while his comments on UPPL signal a sharp political exchange ahead of the elections.------------
