Imphal, 02 October (HS): Security forces and police arrested three alleged active members and cadres of different insurgent groups in separate operations in Manipur on Thursday, in connection with extortion activities.

The CDO-Bishnupur arrested Sanjenbam Sanju Singh, 27, son of S. Tomba Singh of Khabi Mayai Leikai, who was identified as an active member of PRE-PAK (Pro). He was apprehended for his alleged involvement in extortion activities.

In another operation, the CDO-Bishnupur arrested Laishram Rohit Meitei, 22, son of L. Amu Meitei of Tuibong Meitei Leikai in Churachandpur district and presently staying at Laisoi Relief Camp. He was arrested from the Kumbi Sagolpat area for his alleged involvement in extortion activities.

Meanwhile, a combined team of the CDO Unit, Kakching, and security forces arrested Khumukcham Ramesh Meitei alias Panthung, 46, son of Khumukcham Biramangol Meitei of Kakching Khunou Umathel, from his residence under Waikhong Police Station. He was identified as an active cadre of the UNLF (MPA) Pambei group and was arrested in connection with extortion activities.-------------
