Lucknow, 2 Oct (HS): Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) national
president Mayawati has attacked Samajwadi Party (SP). She said that the SP, as
always, engages in political pretense and deception by claiming to be a
PDA party. It only gives tickets to wealthy individuals and
relatives, while the BSP only nominates hardworking Ambedkarite individuals
from weaker sections as its candidates.
BSP chief Mayawati posted on Twitter on Friday, writing that
it's well known that the BSP, unlike the opposition parties, especially the
Samajwadi Party (SP), does not give tickets to its family, relatives, siblings,
nephews, close relatives, and especially to big capitalists and wealthy
individuals in any election, whether small or large. This means it doesn't rely
on their financial power in elections, but instead only nominates hardworking
Ambedkarite individuals from the poor, middle class, and weaker sections of
society as its candidates. This means the BSP's politics is clean and free from
nepotism and money power, while the SP, on the other hand, does the exact
opposite, pretending to be a socialist party and a member of the so-called
PDA.
A recent example of this is that the Samajwadi Party (SP)
has again nominated Ram Gopal Yadav, a close relative of the SP chief, for the
biennial Rajya Sabha elections from Uttar Pradesh. Meanwhile, the SP has
nominated Dhanraj Parimal Nathwani, a member of a prominent business family, as
its second candidate. Public opinion suggests that the SP's third candidate, as
before, will likely be a face-saving measure and a losing candidate.
Mayawati said that the SP needs the PDA's votes in
elections, but they mostly appoint their own family members and big capitalists
as MPs and MLAs. Therefore, it would be wise for the public not to fall prey to
their PDA's influence.
He further stated that this is nothing new; rather, this
kind of double-dealing, character, and personality has always been the norm for
the SP. Therefore, the Bahujan Samaj, in particular, should be fully aware
before the UP Assembly elections that their interests lie within and are
protected by the BSP; everything else is a sham.
