Mumbai, 02 October (H.S.): Anticipation surrounding filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma’s upcoming action thriller ‘Police Company’ continues to grow, with the shooting for the film already underway.
According to reports, actress Fatima Sana Shaikh has also joined the project. However, the makers have not yet officially disclosed details of her role. The film stars Harshvardhan Rane in the lead, with the actor portraying a character inspired by Mumbai’s well-known encounter specialist Daya Nayak.
According to reports, Fatima completed filming her portions for the movie in September. She is said to have been cast in a special role that, although limited in screen time, is significant to the narrative. A source cited in the reports said that her role is not merely a cameo but is expected to play an important part in advancing the story. The number of people present on the set during the filming of her portions was reportedly kept limited, and a body double was also used.
Reports further suggest that ‘Police Company’ is being developed in two parts, with Fatima’s character potentially receiving greater prominence in the second instalment. Details about her character are currently being kept under wraps. According to the source, her track brings a significant aspect of the story to the forefront, which is why her casting has not been publicly announced.
Ram Gopal Varma’s film is reportedly being developed as an action thriller set against the backdrop of the conflict between the Mumbai Police and the underworld.
