Moscow, 07 January (H.S.):

Russia has firmly stated that the future of Venezuela must be determined solely by its own people, and any external interference is unacceptable. The Russian Foreign Ministry issued a statement on Tuesday welcoming the appointment of Delcy Rodríguez as Venezuela’s interim president, while reaffirming its support for the country’s sovereignty and national interests.

The Russian Foreign Ministry emphasized that Venezuela’s internal political affairs should be resolved without outside interference, and its people should have the right to determine their own destiny.

The statement came amid a major political upheaval in Venezuela following the dramatic capture of ousted President Nicolás Maduro by US special forces. Maduro was taken to New York, where he denied charges related to narcotics, sparking turmoil in Caracas and prompting efforts to establish a new political order.

Russia stressed that the international community must respect Venezuela’s legitimate government and institutions. Moscow maintains that the direction of any country’s politics should be guided by its own citizens and legitimate authorities, not by foreign powers.

The ministry reiterated its commitment to supporting Venezuela’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, and called for stability and peace to be restored through dialogue and constitutional processes.Russia has also reaffirmed its ongoing cooperation and support for Venezuela, standing firmly against any foreign intervention in the country’s affairs.
