07 Jan (HS): Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath inspected two temporary night
shelters (Bargadwa and Raptinagar) in Gorakhpur metropolis on Wednesday and
examined the arrangements there. On this occasion, he also distributed blankets
and food among the people staying in the night shelters and the needy outside
the night shelters. After the inspection and distribution of blankets, the
Chief Minister said that in all the districts of the state, the district
administration and the administration of Municipal Corporation, Municipal
bodies-local bodies have been instructed that no person should sleep in the
open, on the footpath or tracks. They should be given a respectable place to
stay with proper arrangements in the night shelters. He informed that to
protect the public from the severe cold wave, adequate funds have been given to
the district administration in all the districts.

Yogi, who was on a visit to Gorakhpur on Wednesday, inspected the temporary
night shelters at Bargadwa and Raptinagar. He inquired about the well-being of
the people staying there and talked to them. The Chief Minister also took
information from everyone about the facilities being provided at the night
shelters. Everyone gave satisfactory answers regarding the arrangements
available at the night shelters and also expressed gratitude to the Chief
Minister for providing good facilities during the severe cold wave. The Chief
Minister distributed blankets and food to the needy with his own hands in both
the night shelters and outside them and assured them that the government is
working with determination for their service and convenience.
Extensive
arrangements across the state to protect against the severe cold wave: CM Yogi
- Speaking to the media after inspecting night shelters, Chief Minister Yogi
Adityanath said that a severe cold wave is currently raging. To protect people
from this, the state government has instructed all district administrations to
take steps on a war footing. Instructions have been given to operate night
shelters on a large scale in every district, distribute blankets and woolen
clothes to the needy, and light adequate numbers of bonfires in public places.
The
Chief Minister informed that 19 night shelters are operating in Gorakhpur
metropolis, in which temporary arrangements have been made for the stay of one
thousand needy people or those forced to sleep on the footpaths. All the night
shelters are safe and are being operated in an organized manner. He said that
like Gorakhpur, night shelters are being operated on a large scale in all the
metropolitan cities and districts of the state. The district administration and
municipal-local body administrations have been instructed that those who do not
have their own place to live should not live on the footpaths, but they should
be brought to night shelters and proper arrangements should be made for them.
He informed that this work is being done by the district administration and
municipal body administration in the entire state.
Voluntary
organizations and charitable institutions should also come forward: The Chief
Minister has also appealed to voluntary organizations and charitable
institutions to come forward to help the people in this severe cold wave. He
called upon the organizations to distribute blankets and woolen clothes among
the needy and said that this is a virtuous and charitable work. Mayor Dr.
Manglesh Shrivastava, BJP State Vice President and MLC Dr. Dharmendra Singh,
MLA Vipin Singh, BJP Metropolitan Coordinator Rajesh Gupta, local councilors
etc. were present during the inspection of night shelters and distribution of
blankets.

Yogi came to the field for the third time in a month to inspect the night
shelters: Public service and facilities for the needy are the top priorities of
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, he has always proved this. Giving impetus to
the campaign of public service, CM Yogi came to the field in Gorakhpur for the
third time within a month on Wednesday. Before inspecting two night shelters on
Wednesday and distributing blankets among the needy, he had inspected the night
shelters and distributed blankets on 28th December and 10th December as well.
On Wednesday, CM Yogi reached the night shelters located at Rapti Nagar and
Mohripur. Whereas on 28th December, he inspected the night shelters located at
TP Nagar, Dharamshala Bazaar and on 10th December, he inspected the night
shelters located in front of the railway station and behind the Jhulelal
temple.
