Melbourne, 06 January (H.S.): The organizers of the Australian Open tennis tournament have announced the biggest prize pool in the event’s history. This year’s total prize money will be AUD 111.5 million, a 16% increase from last year’s AUD 96.5 million.

The singles champions in both men’s and women’s categories will receive AUD 2.79 million each, a 19% rise from the AUD 2.35 million awarded last year. Runners-up will get AUD 2.15 million, while semifinalists will earn AUD 1.25 million each.

Qualifying round prize money has increased by 16%, and all singles and doubles players will receive at least a 10% rise. Players losing in the first round of the main draw will now receive AUD 150,000.

Tennis Australia CEO Craig Tiley said, “This 16% increase in prize money reflects our commitment to supporting tennis careers at every level. From a 55% increase in qualifying prize money since 2023 to improvements in player facilities, we are ensuring professional tennis remains sustainable for all players.”

He added that this prize money boost is part of Tennis Australia’s AUD 135 million investment under the ‘Summer of Tennis,’ supporting the careers of hundreds of professional players.The Grand Slam, held at Melbourne Park, will run for three weeks, starting on January 12. The official draw will be held on January 15 at the Grand Slam Oval’s fan stage, where defending champions Jannik Sinner and Madison Keys are expected to be present.

Winner: AUD 2.79 million (+19%)

Runner-up: AUD 2.15 million (+13%)

Semifinalist: AUD 1.25 million (+14%)

Quarterfinalist: AUD 750,000 (+13%)

Round of 16: AUD 480,000 (+14%)

Round of 32: AUD 327,000 (+13%)

Round of 64: AUD 225,000 (+13%)

Round of 128: AUD 150,000 (+14%)
