Bhubaneswar, 03 January (H.S.): Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday paid rich tributes to Rani Velu Nachiyar, the legendary queen of Sivaganga, recalling her as a pioneering figure in India’s resistance against colonial rule.

In a social media post, the Chief Minister described Rani Velu Nachiyar as the iconic Veeramangai of Sivaganga, highlighting her indomitable courage and exceptional strategic acumen in reclaiming her kingdom from colonial forces. He said her fearless leadership and military valour represent a proud and inspiring chapter in India’s history.

CM Majhi also underscored that Rani Velu Nachiyar’s legacy extended far beyond the battlefield. He noted that her visionary governance, deep commitment to the welfare of her people, and efforts to empower women reflected the highest ideals of leadership and public service.
