Chennai, 27 January (H.S.) : The much-awaited trailer of the upcoming silent film GANDHI TALKS, featuring powerhouses VIJAY SETHUPATHI and ARVIND SWAMY, has been officially released to widespread acclaim.

Directed by KISHOR PANDURANG BELEKAR, this ambitious project marks a bold departure from conventional modern cinema by relying entirely on visual storytelling and musical cues.

The film also stars ADITI RAO HYDARI and SIDDHARTH JADHAV in pivotal roles. Set as a dark comedy, the narrative explores the life of an unemployed graduate named MAHADEV, played by SETHUPATHI, whose desperate search for a livelihood leads him into a complex web involving a businessman and a petty thief.

Music maestro A.R. RAHMAN has composed the soundtrack, which the director describes as the actual voice of the film. BELEKAR stated in an official release that the movie is about trusting silence and returning to the elemental form of performance and emotion.

He praised the cast for embracing the vulnerability required for a dialogue-free medium. Producer UMESH KUMAR BANSAL of ZEE STUDIOS added that the film stands as a unique creative leap in Indian cinema. The teaser prominently uses motifs of currency notes to highlight the dichotomy between GANDHI'S ideals and modern greed.

The film is scheduled for a grand theatrical release on January 30, 2026, coinciding with the death anniversary of MAHATMA GANDHI. Previously, GANDHI TALKS achieved the distinction of being the first silent film screened at the International Film Festival of India (IFFI) in 2023.

During a media interaction, SETHUPATHI explained that his character initially reacts to the GANDHI seen on currency but eventually undergoes a moral transformation.

The project is backed by ZEE STUDIOS in collaboration with KYOORIUS and MOVIE MILL ENTERTAINMENT, promising a sensory experience that speaks volumes through silence.
