20 Jan (HS): A 25-year-old man was stabbed to death at his father's 13th-day
death ritual ceremony (teharvee) in Ajnar, Uttar Pradesh's Mahoba, police said
Tuesday. According to reports, four additional family members were harmed while
attempting to interfere. Ravikant
Gauna's Circle Officer (Kulapahar) stated that on Monday evening, the
'teharvee' ceremony for the deceased Ramkripal was performed in Leva village,
during which his son Vikas clashed with other people.
A
sensational murder case has come to light in Mahoba district of Uttar Pradesh,
where a young man's attempt to stop bike-riding goons from creating a ruckus
proved costly. The fearless goons attacked the young man with knives and killed
him on Monday evening, on the day of his father's thirteenth day. Five other
family members who came to intervene after hearing the commotion were also
injured. The incident has created chaos among the family members, while an
atmosphere of terror prevails in the village. On Tuesday, the police conducted
a post-mortem of the deceased's body.
Ram
Kripal, a resident of Leva village in the Ajanar police station area of the
district, died due to illness. His Trayodashi program was going on on Monday. According
to family members, Ajay Yadav, along with his bike-riding companions, armed
with sharp weapons, attacked Ram Kripal's son, Vikas (25), leaving him
bleeding. Seeing the young man being beaten, family and relatives rushed to his
rescue, but they too fell victim to the powerful men's wrath. After committing
the sensational crime, the powerful men fled the scene, threatening life and
property.
Family
members rushed all the injured to the district hospital, where doctor declared
Vikas dead on arrival. Anil, son of Hari Singh (22), was referred to the
medical college due to his critical condition. The deceased's brothers, Akash
(23), Surjan Singh, son of Nathuram (45), and Babu, son of Jai Prasad (22), are
undergoing treatment at the district hospital. The murder of the son on the day
of his father's Trayodashi created panic in the area. Kulpahaad Circle Officer
Ravikant Gaur said that a case has been registered on the basis of the
complaint of the victim, the matter is being investigated. Teams have been
deployed to arrest the accused.
