
Bhubaneswar, 19 January (H.S.): A grand Hindu conference was organised in Dumuduma area of Bhubaneswar on the occasion of the centenary year celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). The event witnessed the participation of a large number of citizens, youth, women and senior members of the society, reinforcing the message of Hindu unity and nationalism.
The programme began with a 108-kundiya Vedic Agnihotra, where the chanting of sacred mantras created a spiritual and devotional atmosphere. The ritual was jointly conducted by the Patanjali Yoga Samiti and the Bhubaneswar Arya Samaj, adding religious significance to the conference.
During the event, devotees performed worship of the sacred cow (Gomata) and offered prayers seeking a nationwide ban on cow slaughter. This was followed by Bhagavat recitation and a collective chanting of the Hanuman Chalisa, with the entire ground echoing with slogans of “Jai Shri Ram.”
On the occasion, several retired Indian Army personnel were felicitated for their service to the nation. Speaking at the conference, former soldier Vidyadhar Nayak said that India is the land of Sanatan culture and Hindu faith, and called upon people to rise above caste and community differences and unite as children of Bharat Mata.
The conference was also attended by General Dinabandhu Sadangi, Vice President of the Central Committee of the Rashtriya Hindu Organisation, who praised the RSS for its efforts in uniting Hindu society. He urged people to strengthen social and cultural unity.
In the intellectual session, the chief speaker, Puri District Prachar Pramukh Jayakrishna Prusti, stated that the RSS has been working for the past 100 years to organise Hindu society through selfless service, discipline and patriotism. He described the centenary year as a new resolve for the pride and future of the Hindu community.
