New Delhi, 18 January (H.S.): Delhi Police Crime Branch, in a joint operation with Rajasthan Police on Thursday, January 16, apprehended Pradeep Sharma alias Golu, a 23-year-old sharpshooter from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, wanted in multiple grave cases linked to the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang.
Extortion Firing Triggers Elusive Manhunt
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Harsh Indora revealed on Sunday that in March 2025, Bishnoi gang members extorted 4 crore rupees from a Jawahar Nagar businessman in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan; upon refusal, they tasked Golu with firing at his residence, executed in May 2025 alongside accomplices, prompting an FIR at Jawahar Nagar station.
Granted bail thereafter, Golu resumed criminality by supplying illegal arms and ammunition to the gang, leading to the arrest of four members with substantial weaponry, where he emerged as the primary source.
Uttam Nagar Takedown Disrupts Gang Network
Activated amid surging organized crime, extortion, and arms cases, the Crime Branch's Anti-Gangster Squad under Inspector Krishna Kumar leveraged technical surveillance and intelligence to raid Uttam Nagar, capturing Golu red-handed. Interrogation confirmed his pivotal role, resulting in his handover to Rajasthan Police for further probe; prior records tie him to additional firing incidents, underscoring his deep gang entrenchment.
