Kamjong (Manipur), 16 January (HS): A combined team of security forces, the Forest Department, and an Executive Magistrate on Thursday, destroyed approximately 14 acres of illegal poppy cultivation in the hill range between Bohoram and Itham villages under Kasom Khullen Police Station in Kamjong district.

Officials said on Friday that the operation was carried out as part of an ongoing drive against illicit narcotics cultivation in the district. The poppy fields, located in a remote hilly area, were completely uprooted and destroyed during the coordinated action.

The district administration reiterated its commitment to continue strict enforcement measures against illegal drug cultivation and warned that those involved in such activities would face action as per law.
